A-Rod Makes Deal Near Sheik's Unit

Yankee star Alex Rodriguez has gone to contract on selling his Trump Park Avenue apartment, listed most recently at $10 million. At the same time, A-Rod's neighbor, Sheik Abdul Aziz al-Thani of Qatar, cut the asking price on his three-bedroom apartment in the same building from $14 million to $10 million.

A-Rod and his ex-wife, Cynthia, originally asked $14 million for the apartment last year.

Al-Thani bought the apartment in 2005 for $6.1 million. The unit, on the fourth floor with city views, has 11-foot coffered ceilings and a master-bedroom suite with his-and-hers bathrooms plus such common amenities as maid service, a valet, a health club and private storage.

Carrie Chiang and Alexa Tirado of Corcoran Group have the al-Thani listing.



Dog lover Gary David Goldberg, the Emmy-winning writer and creator of iconic TV shows such as "Family Ties" and "Spin City," has put his Brentwood home on the market at just under $20 million.

The 6,900-square-foot house has eight bedrooms and eight bathrooms, and it sits on about three acres. There is a long-gated driveway leading to a circular motor court and a three-car garage with chauffeur's quarters.

Inside the house, there is a media room, a sunroom, a library, a wine cellar and a two-bedroom staff wing. Outside, there is a pool house, a pool, a cabana, a waterfall and a koi pond. The house was built in 1942.

Two-time Emmy winner, Goldberg, 64, was the executive producer of 145 episodes of "Spin City" and 175 episodes of "Family Ties." He produced, directed and wrote the screenplay for the 2005 movie "Must Love Dogs."

Natasha Henstridge who plays lawyer Taylor Wethersby on the ABC comedy-drama "Eli Stone," has listed her Sherman Oaks home at $1.75 million.

The 3,825-square-foot house has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, an entertainment deck, a formal dining room, hardwood floors, high-beamed ceilings, a pool and a pool deck.

Besides appearing in "Eli Stone," Henstridge, 34, appeared in the miniseries "Would Be Kings" and "Impact," both in 2008. She also appeared in "Commander in Chief." She was a top model before switching to acting.

Former USC and NFL quarterback Rodney Peete and his wife, Holly Robinson Peete, have listed their Beverly Hills home for $4.25 million.

There are six bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in the contemporary Mediterranean-style home, which was built in 1988. The home sits at the end of a long, gated driveway. The living room has high ceilings and three sets of doors opening to the back yard. The media room has a fireplace and a bar in it.

Rodney Peete played NFL ball for 16 years, and he was on such teams as the Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, Oakland Raiders and Carolina Panthers.

After leaving the NFL, he became a host on the Fox Sports Net show "Best Damn Sports Show Period," and he hosts "Meet the Peetes" on XM Radio.

 



His name is Blackie Lawless, and he has put his Malibu home on the market at $1,749,000.

The heavy-metal singer for WASP has two bedrooms and one bathroom in 1,100 square feet. Situated on almost three acres, the home also has a wine cave and a rock wall that winds through the property, alongside some hiking trails. Lawless is moving to a larger property that he already bought.

The 52-year-old musician is the remaining original shock rocker of WASP, which was formed in 1982.
