(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest's 10,000-square-foot Mediterranean was built in 1974 and sits on nearly an acre of hilltop with canyon and city views. Remodeled during Seacrest's ownership, the villa has a wine cellar and a screening room. Including the guest house, the property has six bedrooms and 6 1/2 bathrooms. A tennis court, a swimming pool and mature trees complete the grounds.
Seacrest, 35, has hosted "American Idol" since 2002. He followed in the footsteps of his radio idol, Rick Dees, in 2004, taking over the nationally syndicated Top 40 radio show as well as a morning drive-time show. His producing credits include "Food Revolution" (2010) and "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" (2007-present).
He purchased the property from two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker and actor Kevin Costner in 2006 for $11.5 million. Costner had bought the house from Oscar-winning actor Richard Dreyfuss in 1995 for $2.7 million.
Marc Holland, chief executive of Sky Radio, has listed a four-unit beachfront property in Marina del Rey at $3,999,000.
The income property, built in 1968, has been redesigned as a contemporary live/work space with a total of 4,500 square feet.
The units have ocean views, Viking appliances, fireplaces and bamboo floors.
There is a three-bedroom, three-bathroom penthouse, plus a two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit and two studios.
Holland, who was using the property for vacation rentals, launched his in-flight entertainment business in 1995. Clients have included American Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America.
Stylist Locks Into This Home Sale
Vidal Sassoon, the stylist turned magnate whose name became synonymous with hair care products, has sold his Midcentury Modern landmark in Beverly Hills for $10 million.
Designed by Hal Levitt, the 1962 house features walls of glass, high ceilings and city-to-ocean views. Sitting behind gates at the end of a long driveway, the home has an acre and a half of grounds including a swimming pool and a guest house. There are five bedrooms and seven bathrooms in nearly 6,200 square feet of living space.
Levitt designed houses for such Hollywood mainstays as producer Walter Mirisch, director-producer Steven Spielberg and media mogul Lew Wasserman.
Sassoon, 82, who bought the house in the '90s, had listed it in January at $17.5 million.
Another Sassoon residence, the Richard Neutra-designed Singleton House, has been on and off the market since 2007 and has been reduced to $14,995,000 from an original asking price of $19,995,000.
Actor Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas Cassadine on "General Hospital," has put his Studio City home on the market at $1,399,000.
Designed for entertaining, the 2,256-square-foot house has speakers and flat-screen TVs installed throughout. Outdoor features include a built-in barbecue center with prep, serving and eating area, a pool with spa, and a five-hole putting green. The single-story traditional home, built in 1960, has a gym/workout area, four bedrooms and 2 3/4 bathrooms.
Christopher, 37, also has acted on TV series including "Crossing Jordan" (2003), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (2002) and "JAG" (2002) as well as the Steven Spielberg-produced miniseries "Into the West" (2005). He has appeared on the ABC soap opera "General Hospital" since 2003.
Daly's Former Estate Leased
The late Nancy M. Daly's former Malibu home, which recently sold for more than $40 million, has been leased out for $200,000 a month by the new owner.
The selling price is believed to be one of the highest ever for a residential property in Malibu and the lease price among the highest for the region. The lease term for the furnished house was a year minimum, according to Multiple Listing Service details. Shorter-term rentals have matched the $200,000-a-month mark.
The waterfront estate, on 180 feet of a stretch of Carbon Beach known as Billionaires' Beach, includes nearly 13,000 square feet of living space, a beachfront swimming pool and spa and a sports court on three-quarters of an acre. The ocean-facing master bedroom suite has his-and-hers dressing rooms. There is a gym, a wine cellar, nine fireplaces, eight bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
The philanthropist, child advocate and arts supporter was married to Richard Riordan, Los Angeles mayor from 1993 to 2001, after her marriage to Warner Bros. Chief Executive Bob Daly ended in divorce. She died last October at 68.
The house, built in 2002, had most recently been for sale at $47 million, down from $57 million when it came on the market in March.
