The gated, two-story contemporary has an atrium entry and a great room with a media area. Floor-to-ceiling windows flank the fireplace in the living room. Four bedrooms and 2 3/4 bathrooms lie in 3,648 square feet.

The pop-rock-blues musician won the first of his seven Grammys in 2003 for "Your Body Is a Wonderland." "Battle Studies," his fourth studio album, is a nominee in several Grammy categories this year. Among his hits are "Waiting on the World to Change," "No Such Thing" and "Why Georgia."

Mayer, 33, is an avid watch and sneaker collector. He paid $1.75 million for the house in 2006.

Tiring of His Role as Landlord?

Actor Frankie Muniz has put his Hollywood Hills, Calif.-area house on the market for $3,195,000.

The gated home, built in 1941, has been remodeled with an open floor plan. The kitchen, dining room, living room, family room and two bedrooms occupy the lower level. Upstairs, the master bedroom suite has a sitting area, a fireplace and dual closets. Two additional bedrooms are on the upper level of the 4,200-square-foot home, which has four bathrooms.

Muniz, 25, was nominated for an Emmy for his work in the title role of "Malcolm in the Middle" (2000-2006).

He bought the house in 2006 for $3,499,000 and has been leasing it out in recent years.

A Super-Sized Condo

Commercial real estate icon John C. Cushman III and his wife, Jeanine, have purchased two penthouse condos in Pasadena, Calif., and combined them into a single unit with 360-degree views.

The enlarged penthouse has 4,357 square feet of living space on two levels. Originally, the two units were each configured with two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a loft, but the combined floor plan has been customized to five bedrooms, four bathrooms and an office. A wraparound terrace has about an additional 3,000 square feet of outdoor space.

The residence is on the fourth and fifth floors of the five-story Granite Park Place development, where units sell from $800,000 to $2 million. The Cushmans' purchase price was not available.

Doors that open to the deck let the breeze come through the fifth-floor office of the condominium.

"It has the newest technology," Cushman said. "The stuff I never had in any house I've owned. It's kind of fun.

"I've been in Pasadena a long time but never lived anywhere more than two stories high. This is a new experience for me."

Views from the condo include vistas of Mt. Baldy and Mt. Wilson. "On a clear day you can see every rock on the mountain," he said.

The Cushmans split their time between coasts and decided that, with their children grown and out of the house; it was time for what he called "this exciting new maneuver."

In terms of interiors, the couple has gone from traditional to contemporary.

Amenities and services include a full-time concierge, 24-hour staffing, a fitness center and a swimming pool with spa.

Cushman is chairman of the international real estate brokerage Cushman & Wakefield.
