The Whitworth Farms shopping center west of Boyton Beach sold for $11.2 million in a short sale just before going to auction.

The Publix-anchored shopping center was owned by Cadence bank after it won a foreclosure lawsuit filed in February 2012 based on the $28.7 million mortgage, the South Florida Business Journal reports.

The 89,438-square-foot retail center is located at 12425 Hagen Ranch Road. Originally built in 2008, it was set for auction but was sold at a 61 percent discount from the original mortgage.
