U.K. Reports Most Rooms in Europe's Construction Pipeline in February
According to the February 2012 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report, the Europe hotel development pipeline comprised of 863 hotels totaling 140,084 rooms.Among the key countries in the region, Azerbaijan reported the largest expected growth (+41.2 percent) if all 1,285 rooms in the total active pipeline open. Other countries that reported significant expected room growth include: Kazakhstan (+26.8 percent with 1,355 rooms in the total active pipeline); Russia (+22.8 percent with 18,685 rooms); Poland (+9.0 percent with 4,612 rooms); and the United Kingdom (+8.1 percent with 40,328 rooms).
