Bond Properties, an owner, developer and operator of private golf and marina club communities, has acquired the remaining assets of the developers of Escondido, a private golf and lakeside residential community near Austin, Texas, and has announced plans to launch a private residence club at the resort.

Jonas Woods, managing partner of Bond, said: "Bond is very excited to lead Escondido and to be part of such an amazing community and membership. With the strength of Escondido's membership, the incomparable quality of the existing facilities and the completion of several new amenities, Escondido is prominently positioned as one of the best private residential golf and lake communities in the United States."

Bond is launching the Escondido private residence club, La Cascada Club, which it says "will provide an incredible opportunity to enjoy membership in the exclusive equity club and use of La Cascada's collection of luxury homes without the burden of whole home ownership".

"I am very excited to have Bond leading the Escondido community. Their team, experience and capital will ensure that our original vision for Escondido is not only upheld, but elevated," said Terry Horton, the resort's former owner, who is retaining an equity interest in the property along with Bond and its partners.

Bond has taken over management of the member-owned equity club, which includes a Tom Fazio designed golf course, the recently completed 35,000 square foot clubhouse designed by Michael Imber, the 10,000 square foot La Hacienda with restaurant, practice facility and golf shop, and the 17,000 square foot Lake Club, with pool and marina facilities. It has also announced plans to open the clubhouse, which will include a spa and fitness facility.

Escondido is located in Horseshoe Bay, north-west of Austin between Highways 71 and 281 on Highway 2147 and overlooks Lake LBJ in Texas Hill Country.
