(BOWEN ISLAND, VANCOUVER, CANADA) -- Vancouver developers Don Ho and Edwin Lee officially announced June 10th the details of their newest project, The Cape on Bowen, a $100 million oceanfront community located on Bowen Island within eyesight of Vancouver. The Cape on Bowen's beaches, trails, shorelines, and dense woods have been virtually untouched for more than 50 years.

The 618-acre site is on the entire southwest tip of Bowen Island - 35 minutes from Vancouver.

The Cape on Bowen is comprised of 10-acre estate home sites with an average price of $2 million. Estate home sites feature spectacular views from the wild terrain and ocean's edge which are celebrated at key locations for shared community enjoyment. A trail system provides access to all of this natural wonder and to the heart of the new oceanfront community: the iconic Cape Roger Curtis Lighthouse.

The Cape on Bowen Community Development Limited, a joint venture between the Trans City Group of Companies, led by Don Ho, and the Leeda Developments Group, led by Edwin Lee, is developing The Cape on Bowen.

With the British Columbia Real Estate Association forecasting on June 7th that residential sales will drop by 3 percent in 2010, the developers of The Cape on Bowen, are confident there will be demand for its oceanfront community.

"Opportunities to create a legacy estate home on previously undeveloped south facing island property in the Georgia Strait 35 minutes from downtown Vancouver are extremely rare," says Don Ho, president of Trans City Group. "Regardless of economic peaks and valleys we believe the market will be strong for this type of property."

Ekistics, planners of Whistler's Athlete Village during the 2010 Winter Olympics, has drafted the design guidelines for the new neighborhood. RareEarth Project Marketing and Sea to Sky Premier Properties, an affiliate of Christie's Great Estates, are conducting the sales and marketing.

A rich ecosystem thrives on Bowen Island as deer move through the woods, birdcalls are heard everywhere and seals, bald eagles, sea lions, and whales can be spotted off this coastal bluff. The Cape on Bowen has been designed to minimize the development footprint. An oceanfront trail system provides public access to the Cape Roger Curtis Lighthouse and offers some of the best island trails in the region for sheer variety of terrain and scenic views of the ocean and neighboring islands.

"The vision for The Cape on Bowen aspires to coexist in harmony with the natural environment as we think this will build a strong sense of community as home owners share experiences unique to the area," says Edwin Lee, president of the Leeda Developments Group, "With spectacular views, wild terrain and oceanfront, this is a very unique community."

The Cape on Bowen is comprised of 59 home sites and it will be starting its sales and marketing campaign shortly. To celebrate the official launch of the oceanfront community, the developers hosted a crab barbecue June 5th for more than 40 property prospects. Zodiac boat and helicopter tours of the property are available. Additional sales events are being planned throughout the spring and summer.
